DC Women Kicking Ass

Thoughts, pictures, reviews and other stuff about the women in comics who kick ass.
"... just a dreadful little site that just basically compiles lists." - poster/DC Comics forum
"... provides a much-needed voice that is not often heard on traditional comic sites." - Wired's Geek Dad
... she's pretty amazingly ignorant of comics outside of the Batverse and some recent Wonder Woman, and seems pretty clueless about the way the industry works. That and she doesn't write that well at all." anonymous poster, Dreamwidth
" ... a phenomenal blog that's always up to date with female superhero news ..." -Nerdbastards.com

Cover to Wonder Woman #5; Wonder Woman #1 breaks 100K

Ah, a bit of the old “Agony and Ecstasy: for me with Wonder Woman today.

The Ecstasy:

Also The Source announced this morning that Wonder Woman #1 has reached 100K in sales.

And now the agony also from the Source:

In DC COMICS-THE NEW 52, Wonder Woman will have a new origin, in which she is the daughter of Hippolyta … and Zeus! In recent interviews, writer Brian Azzarello and artist Cliff Chiang have teased that readers should expect the unexpected in this edgier, horror take on the superhero genre and the king of the gods will ensure that nothing goes as planned for his defiant daughter.

Originally created by the goddess Aphrodite and raised to perfection on the Amazon island of Themiscyra, the newest incarnation of Wonder Woman has a new costume and now a new origin but she remains Wonder Woman. Strong. Proud. Fearless.

Sigh. Not feeling good about this at all.
