DC Women Kicking Ass

Thoughts, pictures, reviews and other stuff about the women in comics who kick ass. This is a feminist site. Deal with it.
"... just a dreadful little site that just basically compiles lists." - poster/DC Comics forum
"... provides a much-needed voice that is not often heard on traditional comic sites." - Wired's Geek Dad
... she's pretty amazingly ignorant of comics outside of the Batverse and some recent Wonder Woman, and seems pretty clueless about the way the industry works. That and she doesn't write that well at all." anonymous poster, Dreamwidth
" ... a phenomenal blog that's always up to date with female superhero news ..."

When you go to the LCS today to buy Batwoman …

you might want to pick up The Ray #2 by Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray and Jamal Igle, too. You can see a preview here.

We reviewed the first issue on "3 Chicks Review Comics" and we all enjoyed it and gave it positive review. If you like the original run on Blue Beetle or Bryan Q. Miller’s Batgirl, you may like the tone of this book. It’s more light hearted than much of the fare coming out of DC these days. It also has a very diverse cast including the lead who is Korean-American, his Indian-American girlfriend.

Unlike others, I find diversity to be a good thing in comics and was glad to see it in “The Ray”. (Unlike someone who said the book feels like “the obligatory “black best friend” that DC Comics will trot out at SDCC 2012 to prove to extremists in Batgirl costumes that they’re not racists.”  Yes, someone actually wrote that.)

So give The Ray a try.

People, this comic is great, and you should read it. No overwrought continuity to confuse readers, the duo of Palmiotti...
