DC Entertainment and its parent company Warner Bros. today unveiled a two-year campaign, “We Can Be Heroes” that is focused on donating a minimum of $2M in funds to fight hunger in the Horn of Africa. The funds will come from donations and matching programs and will benefit three organizations Save the Children, International Rescue Committee and Mercy Corps.
The campaign will feature the current line-up of the Justice League as its symbol.
The campaign will be be heavily centered around the website www.WeCanBeHeroes.org. Consumer donations on the site will be matched will be matched 100 percent (up to $1 million in donations). The site will also featured specially branded merchandise, with 50 percent of the purchase price going to fight the hunger crisis via We Can Be Heroes.
