More on Marvel’s Captain Marvel

I posted earlier the teaser that Marvel released today for a July Captain Marvel title. I’ve noticed much discussion in the comments about who that Captain Marvel might be. And now comes word via Bleeding Cool that sounds just about right - Captain Marvel is Carol Danvers and the writer is Kelly Sue DeConnick.

This would, of course, give Marvel back a standalone female-led title, a good thing given the buzz around their cancellation of X-23, the only female-led ongoing it was publishing. It also gives Kelly Sue DeConnick, one of the best new comic writers to emerge at the big two over the last two years, a regular title.

A female led title written by a woman? Let’s hope this one is true.
