On Monday I speculated that the Robin in artwork that DC release for Smallville Season 11 #5 was a woman.

I was wrong. It was not a female Robin. It was a female Nightwing and as revealed just a while ago in TV Guide, that Nightwing is Stephanie Brown.
Smallville Season 11 is written by Bryan Q. Miller who also wrote Batgirl vol.2 which starred Stephanie Brown. In the final issue of his run on the book she dreamt about her future which including taking on the mantle of a Nightwing:

How fun is it that she really does?
Why Steph, Miller says in the article:
“Bruce can be somewhat of an angry man. Stephanie’s personality is so can-do and unsinkable and bright, so it’s very much on purpose on Bruce’s part that he has a good cop going out on patrol with him every night.” (Miller says it will eventually be addressed as to why Stephanie is Nightwing in this comic and not Batgirl.)
I’m happy that Stephanie Brown will now be in at least one comic with a DC logo on it. The digital issues featuring this arc will go on sale in August.
