And the 2012 Most Kick Ass DC Woman is …

After over six weeks of balloting, after 31 matches and after 29,000 votes cast, the winner of the 

has been decided!

And the winner is, with 56% of yesterday’s vote, a character who has not appeared in any media not targeted at children for over a year and any attempts otherwise thwarted, a character who ignited a movement among female comic readers, a character whose adventures were named by USA as “essential” in 2010.

It’s great so many people like the character. I think she’s pretty terrific myself. 

Maybe, someday in the future, you’ll see her in DC Comics again.
