The animated trinity of Super Girl, Wonder Girl and Batgirl of Cartoon Network’s DC Nation are no more, for now. Creator Lauren Faust when asked about how many shorts the upcoming season responded, “I wasn’t available to do more so, sadly, none.”
The cartoon was one of the most popular created for DC Nation even getting it own t-shirts. But Faust is hopeful that the show may be back someday saying, “Who knows what the future holds. Took 7 years for PPG [Power Puff Girls] to get a green light, but it got made!”
Many had hoped that the characters would get their own all ages comics from DC. Perhaps after the comic based on Faust’s other creation My Little Pony, had pre-orders of 90,000 copies and sell-outs, that might be something that DC might take a harder look at the idea.
So farewell for now Subuffs. We’ll miss you!
Faust also posted this on her Twitter feed.
