DC Comics named Shelly Bond to role of Executive Editor of Vertigo yesterday. Bond succeeds Karen Berger, SVP and executive editor, who will leave DC Comics in March. Bond has been at Vertigo for almost two decades where she’s been responsible for some of the the imprints most successful titles include Fables. Bond was also responsible for the Minx imprint. DC also announced the promotions of Vertigo editors Will Dennis and Mark Doyle.
The moves signal that DC will continue to invest in the imprint despite the recent outflux of talent and influx of characters into DC proper.
Bond becomes one of two women with senior editorial positions at DC; Bobbie Chase was promoted to Editorial Director for the DC titles earlier this year.
Congratulations to Shelly on this well earned promotion as well as to Will and Mark.
