Justice League #20 Solicit Confirms The Atom now female character
When the teaser for DC’s Trinity War came out last spring there was speculation that the Atom shown in the double page spread was not Ryan Choi but a female character.
Choi had been all but confirmed as returning to life in new 52 during SDCC 2011 by Jim Lee and by his appearance on a promotional glass. Given the highly controversial way that Choi, one of the few Asian superheroes at DC was killed, the announcement was seen as a positive (you can read why I thought so here).
Today on the cover revealed for the May issue of Justice League that the Atom is indeed a woman.
While I’m always happy to see more female characters in DC, I am very disappointed that DC did not move forward on reviving Ryan Choi.
