DC Women Kicking Ass

Thoughts, pictures, reviews and other stuff about the women in comics who kick ass. This is a feminist site. Deal with it.
"... just a dreadful little site that just basically compiles lists." - poster/DC Comics forum
"... provides a much-needed voice that is not often heard on traditional comic sites." - Wired's Geek Dad
... she's pretty amazingly ignorant of comics outside of the Batverse and some recent Wonder Woman, and seems pretty clueless about the way the industry works. That and she doesn't write that well at all." anonymous poster, Dreamwidth
" ... a phenomenal blog that's always up to date with female superhero news ..."

Lois Lane YA Novel Coming!

Lois Lane will be getting the YA novel treatment come January from author Gwenda Bond. The book, titled Fallout, is from Capstone/Switch will focus on young Lois Lane just starting out in Metropolis. The 304 page book will be released in January (Update: the writer says May). Will Superman appear? Check out the blurb below to see.

According to the description provide by the publisher:

Lois Lane is starting a new life in Metropolis. An Army brat, Lois has lived all over—and seen all kinds of things. (Some of them defy explanation, like the near-disaster she witnessed in Kansas in the middle of one night.) But now her family is putting down roots in the big city, and Lois is determined to fit in. Stay quiet. Fly straight. As soon as she steps into her new high school, though, she can see it won’t be that easy. A group known as the Warheads is making life miserable for another girl at school. They’re messing with her mind, somehow, via the high-tech immersive videogame they all play. Not cool. Armed with her wit and her new snazzy job as a reporter, Lois has her sights set on solving this mystery. But sometimes it’s all a bit much. Thank goodness for her maybe-more-than-a friend, a guy she knows only by his screenname, SmallvilleGuy …

Hmm,  I wonder who that might be?

Lois Lane has a fervent fan following among females due to her appearances in Smallville as well as film and comics. It is interesting that this book is getting a green light at this point given that past attempts at Lois Lane books such a pitch by Dean Trippe, have been passed on.

Are you excited about the book?
