DC Women Kicking Ass

"... just a dreadful little site that just basically compiles lists." - poster/DC Comics forum
"... provides a much-needed voice that is not often heard on traditional comic sites." - Wired's Geek Dad
... she's pretty amazingly ignorant of comics outside of the Batverse and some recent Wonder Woman, and seems pretty clueless about the way the industry works. That and she doesn't write that well at all." anonymous poster, Dreamwidth
" ... a phenomenal blog that's always up to date with female superhero news ..." -Nerdbastards.com

Christy Marx Talks Birds of Prey

Christy Marx joined DC Comics last year to write the highly anticipated relaunch of Amethyst, Sword of Sorcery. That book has now had its last issue but Marx is staying on at DC as the new head writer of Birds of Prey, taking over from Duane Swierczynski who relauched the book in the new 52. Marx’s run on BoP began with issue 18.  Recently, I spoke with Christy by email about the book and what readers can expect. Note: if you have not yet read issue #20, you will be spoiled.

I had a slight familiarity with the characters in previous years and a passing awareness of the TV series. I did read and study the entire run of the New 52 reboot, as well as Gail Simone’s current work on Batgirl. I’m a strong believer in doing research.
